Installing Wide Cage
There are a number of places and ways to use Wide Cage liter bottle cage. We cover those option in another post.
In this tutorial, we are going to focus on standard mounting to the built-in mounting points on your frame with the hardware included with your cage.
STEP 1: Find the Wide Cage sticker in the box and stick it to your bottle 🙂
STEP 2: On your frame, locate the available mounting points. Typically, frames have mounting points on the down tube and the sea post tube.
STEP 3: Decide which place will work best for you. This is a personal decision, there is no right or wrong answer. Pick the spot that feels the most comfortable to access.
STEP 4: Hold your Wide Cage over the mounting holes so that slots on the backplate line up with the screw holes on the bike frame.
STEP 5: Insert the screws into the threaded holes in the bike frame and give them a couple turns with your hand so they hold in place. Now, get your 4mm Allen wrench and tighten the screws. You want the screws tight but don’t wrench it too hard or you might break the threads or worse; break the frame insert.
Now you are ready to test your bottle fit and go for a ride!
